Description
Existentialism: a philosophical attitude opposed to rationalism and empiricism, that stresses the individual's unique position as a self-determining agent responsible for the authenticity of his or her choices.
Philosophers most commonly associated with this movement are Heidegger, Kierkegaard, Sartre, Camus, and occasionally Nietzsche.
*** The Stamp***
I know this stamp is simple, but it seems fitting. I was shocked when searching for stamps, I couldn't find any for Existentialism!
It's a very trying job to define this philosophical movement; I remember my professor lamenting the task and explaining how, even after a full semester on the subject, he couldn't adequately encompass the philosophy.
***The Reason***
I made this stamp because I am an Existentialist. I've come a long way philosophically and spiritually. I started out as a Nihilist, and gradually moved to a very cynical Existentialist. Now, while I don't fit the standards as much as I used to, I still very much consider myself a daughter of the school.
NOTE: I welcome questions, but this is not an invitation for argument or debate! I don't want to argue over the definition or philosophers listed; I am very much aware of how contested it all is.
